Here is the list of known parades at this time (2/5/10).  We’ll update this list as information becomes available.

DOWNTOWN PARADES 2010 Schedule

  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Sat. March 13 – 10:30 am
  • Labor Day Parade –Mon. September 6 – 10:00 am
  • African American Heritage Day Parade – Sat. October 2 – 11am to 1pm
  • Columbus Day Parade – Saturday, October 9– 10:00 am –  Bloomfield
  • Veterans Day Parade – Thursday.  November 11 – 10:30 am to 1pm
  • “Celebrate The Season” Holiday Parade – Sat. November. 27- 9am to 11am

March 13, 2010 – 10 a.m. – The 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

Location: Downtown 

Description: Second–largest St. Patrick’s Parade in the USA.  23,000 participants.  200 marching units including 18 marching bands.  Floats and many other groups representing several Irish heritage and other ethnic heritage organizations.  150,000-250,000 spectators anticipated.  Participants will include the yet to be announced 2010 Grand Marshal, Miss Smiling Irish Eyes 2010, along with St. Patrick Himself.

 New Parade Route:

Unlike years’ past, the 2010 parade will follow a newly established route.  Parade formation will begin at the Greyhound Bus Station at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 11th Street.  Staging will take place from the bus station and away from Downtown to 26th Street.  The parade will proceed from the intersection of Liberty and 11th Streets to Grant Street to the Boulevard of the Allies, where it will turn right.  Proceed on the Boulevard of the Allies to the Reviewing Stand at Stanwix Street, then disburse at Commonwealth Place.
